Ang 1st ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards ay gaganapin ngayong araw, March 28, sa Koching , Sarawak , Malaysia.

Tatagal ang naturang festival hanggang March 30.

Ayon sa ulat  kahapon, March 27, 100 pelikula ang maglalaban-laban sa tatlong araw na festival kung saan labintatlo rito ay mula sa Pilipinas.

Ang unang araw ng screening ay para lamang sa short-listed films na hinati-hati according to genre. Sa pangalawa at pangatlong araw naman, mga nomindaong pelikula ang mapapanood.

Matatandaang noong January 12, 2013, nagpunta pa mismo dito sa Pilipinas ang producer ng nasabing film awards para personal na makilala ang isa sa mga magiging adviser ng festival na si Direk Dante Nico Garcia.

Lahat ng entries mula sa Pilipinas ay produced independently o indie films.

Si Jericho Rosales bago siya lumapad papuntang Cambodia  ay nakausap siya  at masaya niyang ikinuwentong nominado ang kanyang indie film na Alagwa sa AIFFA.

Pupunta raw ang aktor sa screening at awarding nito sa Malaysia, at dito na raw niya i-spend ang kanyang Holy Week.

Makakasama ni Echo ang ilan pang mga Pinoy celebrities sa Malaysia na sina Ricky Davao, Alfred Vargas, Dominic Roco, Erika Padilla, at Glaiza de Castro.

Kakanta naman sa awarding ceremony si Ima Castro.
